Ian Gitaka

Ian is a young and passionate counsellor, with a few years of experience in counselling psychology. He got into the field through interest from how psychologists are portrayed in media. That curiosity and interest eventually led him to reading up on the field and picking it as a career. It has been a great ride so far, learning more. Seeing the field grow in Kenya gives him hope that not only did he make the right choice but also that mental health as a field can improve in Kenya. Despite everything going on, he does his best to make whatever contributions he can in his field to make things better. He is currently working as a Counsellor at Mental 360; outside mental health, his interests include cats, nature and all things science, most nerdy interests, creative pursuits and creating mental health awareness through spreading accurate information on the field.
